Minion Measurement

Last week we were busy working on lots of new concepts in math.  One being measuring to the nearest inch.  My kids are in love with the minions from Despicable Me so I decided to use it to my advantage.  I found this adorable clipart and decided to make a measurement hunt for minions, goggles and all! Check out this cutie!

The kiddos cut out their goggle template and stapled the glasses to a sentence strip.  They had to hunt around the room for minions to measure and write their measurements on their recording form.  They LOVED this activity.  I added a quick check sheet to do with the kids for a quiz or morning work.  They all did pretty good and the activity had 100% engagement.  They all wanted to wear their goggles to recess and lunch ; ) LOVE it!
