I am very excited to be back to school after a long break, but I am even more excited to work on my New Years Resolution.....get back into blogging once a week. I did want to share some fun freebies that we did this
past week and also my great news! This last
month has been a stressful one to say the least. We put our house on the market and it sold
that day!!!!! Talk about exciting but stressed.
We actually found a house that weekend and we closed on the 30th. I am excited because it is so much closer to
my work. I have been driving 30 minutes
to work every day. BOO!

I am late on posting this stuff but here it is:
I have a cute holiday math hunt that I made for a review
before break. These are all common core
first grade level skills. I can’t take
any credit for this idea because Mrs. Lemmon’s did this for her second
graders. I loved it, but it was just too
hard for my little ones, so I made one with different clipart and easier problems. Hope you can use it for next year. Sorry it's so late.
We have also been busy using our base ten blocks for place value for ones and tens. I found a really great Promethean board flip chart to use with my lesson and the kids really liked it. If you would like to use it with my printable below just leave your email address in the comment box and I will share ; ) I used the base ten mat below for the kids to use during whole group. They would get a number (62) and then they had to show that number using base ten blocks on their mat. I put the mat in a protective paper sleeve and let them use their expo markers. It was great because it saved time passing out all the blocks that we all know you find laying around days later.
Congrats on the house! We are currently looking to buy our first house. It is definitely stressful, but exciting. :)
