I made these journals so my kids would be accountable for sorting activities we do to introduce new weekly words. We use the Treasures Reading Series and sometimes I feel that the word work activities are very repetitive. I thought this would be a great way for the kids to record their weekly words, plus they could take these home for extra practice. I use the bottom half as the sorting area and the top part could be used for draw a picture and label three words, write three sentences using your words, or write words that rhyme. I made the top page (practice space) very generic, so it could be used however you want.
This is awesome! I use Treasures too so this is extra special to me. Thanks for the download! :)
ReplyDeletePlease check out my new linky party. Thanks!

This is great! I was going to use spiral notebooks for my sorting journals but I like yours better!
ReplyDeleteI noticed you use Pathways. My district just started and I'm so lost! Do you have any tips or ideas for me!

Amy - It will get easier. I promise. I swear that my kids leave the year way more advanced in reading. I am in the process of putting together a Pathways Power Pack. I'm waiting to get a PDF converter and then it should be up. Hopefully in a couple weeks. This will help a lot b/c it has tons of fun games.

Lauren,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this resource. I use Reading Street and my kids love doing sorts. It will be nice for them to have this journal to record their sorts for practice at a later time. Liz
Lauren,
ReplyDeleteIt's Donna from PeaceLoveLearning.blogspot.com. I saw your comment about wanting a birthday packet but you forgot to leave me your email - OOPS! Pop back over and leave me your address so I can send you your goodies! Your blog is really cute - I'm a follower now!
I can't wait for the Pathways Power Pack!
ReplyDeleteMe too Amy! Lauren, I have been using Pathways for the past 2 years. I agree that the students leave the class so strong in their reading! It has made me a much stronger teacher as well.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteYou have a great idea and I like the cover. Do you have a cover for boys also? If you do please send to me. I would like to use your format! dianken@bellsouth.net
Notwithstanding, on the off chance that you decide on this scope, remember that you won't have the capacity to take your bicycle out for a ride when a warm spell shows up for a couple days amid the winter months. Cash Advance San-diego
